Michigan Academy Program
Michigan Academy Program was established by Cozy Cole Farm and several other training facilities in the surrounding area. This program holds 4 tournament shows and a championship show during the off season at Cozy Cole Farm. These show begin in November and run through March. We have found that these tournaments provide a way to expose our young and inexperienced riders to competitive equestrian events in a relaxed and low pressure environment. It is also a great way for seasoned show riders to stay in shape and brush up on their skills during the winter months. All riders compete on horses used in their stable's lesson program. Classes are offered in the divisions of showmanship, hunt seat, saddleseat, and western. Riders compete in a turtle neck sweater and the appropriate pants and boots for their division of riding. Helmets are required for riders under the age of 18. Students who participated in these shows receive points for each class they participate in. These points accumulate throughout the winter show season and an awards banquet is held in March/April. All participants are invited and recognized at the banquet. High point ribbons are rewarded and all competitors receive a ribbon for their participation in the tournament. We hope to see you this winter!
