Sandy Wrenn has developed a wonderful lesson program that specializes in Saddleseat, Huntseat, Western, Showmenship and Pleasure Driving from ages 6 - adult. We believe that the horse and rider should feel comfortable together and learn as one. Every student begins with a private lesson on one of our seasoned lesson horses. Very young riders will need more private lessons before riding in a group. It is very rare for riders under the age of 6 to be safe in a group lesson, so very young riders should plan to remain in private lessons. Group lessons usually only consist of two maybe three riders so that each rider has the chance to receive one-on-one time with the instructor.
Cost: $35 per lesson
Schedule: Appointments are necassary in order to take a lesson. We like to schedule students of the same skill level together. Lessons last 30 minutes. Students should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled lesson time to groom and tack up their horse.Students should also plan to stay 15 minutes after to cool down and properly put away their horse.
Attire: Students should wear long pants and closed toe shoes. Shorts, skirts, and capri pants are not acceptable. Sandals or open-toed (or open-heeled) shoes are not safe. Once you decide to continue riding for awhile, you will need riding pants (depending on the seat) and a hard-soled ankle-high boot with a half-inch heel. We have several tack stores located near us that can help you find just what you need.
Waiver: All students must have a signed waiver
